Do you know how your clothes were made?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you have recently bought clothes from high-end malls or fast fashion stores, then there is a high probability that those maybe Unethical Fashion, produced in unethical ways, which may be endangering the environment and exploit natural and human resources. Its Okay ! you may not be aware of it, we believe that this post would raise awareness about ethical fashion.

Let’s look at what Ethical Fashion is: Its principle is to source garments ethically while providing good working standards and conditions for the workers and use of organic material, which has minimal impact on the environment. Very few brands and startups have recently started promoting themselves, as Ethical Companies producing ethical products.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You might have a question by now, how do I know (or) differentiate them, from all brands. Well. it may not be easy initially but eventually, as you learn about sustainability and ethical products, you would be able to identify them easily. Currently, the Indian government does not have a mark like SIlk mark, for products which are sustainable or made ethically. We believe, Government and its agencies have a vital role, to play to ensure strict and stringent action against unethical companies and their products. With lack of such mark or information, consumers are not aware of such unethical practices by Large MNCs and Fashion Retailers, who cover up bad publicity and concentrate on wealth creation for their shareholders, by discarding NGOs and consumer’s views and opinions. Thus, Consumers are faced with a dilemma – whether to boycott the company and its brands (or) compromise their ethical moral, while buying the product. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the upcoming post, lets closely examine consumer behaviour. Do comment below, if you wish to add or ask something, you are interested about. Do follow us to hear more about #Ethical fashion and ways of #Sustainability in the coming weeks.
