If you are planning to fly with Southwest Airlines. and want to know about southwest seat selection and Southwest Business Select seats .so here we are giving information about it. Southwest Airlines is popular for its unique boarding process rather than traditional assigned seating. Travelers are divided into groups (A, B, and C) and assigned a boarding position within those groups based on the order they checked in for the flight. Passengers in Group A get to board first, followed by Group B, and then Group C.

During the boarding process, passengers can choose any available seat on the plane, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. This system is often referred to as “open seating” or “cattle call” boarding.

Boarding Groups: Passengers are divided into three boarding groups — A, B, and C. Each group is further divided into numbered positions (e.g., A1, A2, B1, B2, etc.).

Check-In: Check-in for your flight opens 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. The earlier you check-in, the better your boarding position will be. You can check in online, through the Southwest mobile app, or at the airport.

Boarding Order: Boarding occurs in the following order:

Group A: Passengers with positions A1-A60 (approximately), including Business Select and EarlyBird Check-In customers.
Group B: Passengers with positions B1-B60 (approximately).
Group C: Passengers with positions C1-C60 (approximately).

Here’s what you can expect from Southwest Business Select seats:

  1. Priority Boarding: Business Select passengers are among the first to board the plane, typically after the A group but before the B and C groups. This allows you to have a better chance at selecting your preferred seat and stowing your carry-on luggage.
  2. Guaranteed A1-A15 Boarding: When you purchase a Business Select ticket, you are guaranteed a boarding position within the A1-A15 group. This ensures that you’ll have a wider selection of seats to choose from and better chances of finding a comfortable spot.
  3. Rapid Rewards Points: Business Select passengers earn additional Rapid Rewards points for each flight segment. This can help you accumulate points faster and potentially earn rewards like free flights or other benefits.
