There are cost boosting things in this design I could do without for sure, but I really do like some of them. Don’t expect an apology for that.

I could see where a single thickness case and less of a crazy good motor would be good ways to save money. On the other hand, I have cussed a lot of designers for using plastic parts like vinyl gears for the last few decades. I don’t need a $10 can opener. I need a $30 one that lasts more than a year or two.

More, I see that after you took this apart, you could reassemble it. That’s not the case for a lot of goods on the market today. You can thank Japanese engineers from the 70s for that.
