TODAY’S MUST HAVE IQ ACCESSORIES
Everyone has known someone, or several people, who they consider extraordinarily “smart” or “intelligent”. And It’s not just one person who notices this, most people who know these people would agree. These are people who would score close to, or in the gifted range, on an IQ test. Yet despite that high IQ, these same people cannot seem to maintain any level of success. They just can’t seem to get it, or keep it, together. They are for whatever reason, and most unfortunately, underachieving…
There is a general assumption that straight As and high IQ equal a successful life. But when taking a closer look at the successful, there are countless examples of people who didn’t go the traditional academic route, or weren’t in the top of their class, yet who do quite well in life regardless. Some quite astoundingly well in fact.
So if IQ doesn’t solely determine level of success then what does?
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

It appears that IQ is almost useless without a variety of other important yet less frequently considered traits such as the following:
- Discipline
- Stamina
- High tolerance for frustration
- Strong ability to delay gratification
- Realism and/or optimism
- Self-confidence
- Drive and desire
- Focus
- Internal Motivation
- Vision
- Acceptance of responsibility
- Belief and faith
- Determination
- Steadfast refusal to give up
- Ability to learn from failure
- Ability to set limits and say no
- Ability to accept help and delegate
Just about any personal strength can be added to the list. These strengths appear to be must have accessories to complement IQ and subsequently facilitate success.
While the extent of our ability to radically improve our own IQ is unclear, people do have a lot of control over how they facilitate and maximize the use of their strengths. They also remain free to adopt any of the aforementioned strengths and practice them until they become second nature.
Every person has their own unique constellation of strengths and weaknesses. If a person is struggling to succeed, and has been for awhile, it might be time to upgrade some of their strengths or “IQ accessories” with some targeted self-work. The successful let nothing that is within their control to change stand in their way…
