It was October 3rd 2019, discussion in a group started for a long trip and Goa kicked in our thoughts. Each and every buddy of our school group got a call and each of them were so excited for this experience. We were all pursuing degree and taking a break from that busy and boring life wasn’t a big deal for us.

We thought of going on in train and we booked train tickets. Luckily, it was my first long journey with friends on train on 9th October 2019, just like a girl on “yeh jawaani hai deewani”. So did I meet my Kabir? Nah, not actually. Little disappointment but the journey was awesome.

Our gang was crazy and we had all the chit chats and we enjoyed most on the train. I think no other means of travel would have given us that fun. After sixteen hours of travel we finally reached Vasco da gama. Cabs are awesome costly there and some are highly demanding. On worst case, some can demand for more money in the middle of the road. So be careful while booking cabs. We managed to get the bus tickets and we reached the villa that we booked, which was located at panjim(panaji).

Villa looked promising. First day we were able to cover baga, candolim and calangute beaches. If you wish to cover more places, it is best to hire vehicles. Goa and bikes are the best combination. It would cost you around 500 rs per day. Make sure the number plate of the vehicle is correctly registered and according to all the rules of state government of Goa. Looks silly! but not. It may create some mess with traffic police and you will end up paying the fine.

Food and lifestyle are really costly. The cheaper was only liquor. But now liquor is no longer cheaper. Shopping is at its best at the streets of Goa where you get to buy everything for your beloved ones at slightly high price. If you are foodie and have cravings for sea food then go ahead. Beach and sea food at night are perfect. If you are planning to go with your valentine, then night dine at baga beach is a must try.

Baga Beach

We got to know about water sports and excited to try it. There are some people, who can easily trick you by offering discounts followed by initial payment and going unanswered the next day. So be careful. We booked the package in an office called sandy goa travels in calangute, for the next day. It was 6 games package inclusive of breakfast, lunch and travelling at 1900 rs per person which was a good deal for us.

Boarding was near kfc calangute at 8 AM, it was an AC bus. Initially they took our batch like culprits taken to jail, just kidding. We had no clue to which island we would have been taken to. It took almost 2-3 hours and yeah we were finally in an Island called as Grand Island. They offered us light breakfast which was samosa and a soft drink and the games began! There will be almost three batches per day. But no worries. They schedule appropriately and no need to wait.

Grand Island
Parasailing in Grand Island

Games we played are Speed boat, Bumper ride, Jet ski, Banana ride, Scuba Diving and Parasailing. Other inclusions are scuba underwater video and water sports training session. They were trained, responsible and an affable guides. And yeah, Lunch was around 3 PM. It was like icing on the cake! but, we had non veg. There is an option to choose either veg or non veg for meals. By 6 PM in the evening, they dropped us back to calangute. It was an unforgettable day in Goa.

Grand Island

Next day we went to places such as Basilica of Bom Jesus, Aguada Fort, and Archaeological Museum of Goa. Unfortunately we had to leave Goa that night. We missed visiting many other beautiful places and also casino.

We were waiting to watch Dudhsagar since 4 AM in the early morning while going to Goa in the train. Our bad luck, it was too dark and we weren’t even able to catch sight of Dudhsagar that day. But God had another plan! so we enjoyed watching Dudhsagar in the evening while returning from Goa in the train. Watching it and yelling outta excitement is another awesome experience. If you plan properly you can cover more places and enjoy more.

Ennui crept up in the heart? Then better take an excited journey like Goa with your gang. It has so much to offer. Happy and safe travelling!
