Delhi Government hates you and me…

When Aam Aadmi Government came to power in Delhi, I had hope that they would take reasonable steps to help people live their lives comfortably.

However, one specific decision of theirs has been baffling me for the last couple of weeks.

The government has been pushing for stupid regulation on apps based cab services. They want these cars to have hardware GPS installed along with some other requirements like an emergency button.

Uber is in no mood to comply and as a result, they are being targeted along with others like Ola and TaxiForSure.

My opinion? Delhi Government need to sit with representative of these companies and come up with a solution that is agreeable to everyone. I mean what good a malfunctioning GPS box or SOS button would do for me? Uber app has both features already and it is in my control.

A cab driver planning to rob me (or rape his passenger) would probably disable both of these features first right?

Banning Uber and Ola and TFS is not going to help anyone. It takes away livelihood from thousands of cab drivers who are making good money through these services. And it takes away the convenience of ordering a cab at any given time to regular folks like me.

One simple question I want to ask the government of Delhi… What has the government provided me as a safe mode of transport if I am stranded in a remote area of Delhi at 3am? I know that I can always rely on Uber to pick me up and drop me at home at very reasonable prices.

If Uber gets banned in Delhi, it gets banned in Gurgaon which is awful news for someone like me who absolutely hate driving a car these days.

My simple message to the Arvind Kejriwal government. Think of the people. You say technology is the solution. So why not rely on a modern version of the SOS button and GPS here as well?
