SEATTLE- Isola Homes’ upcoming Vida development, at 120 20th Avenue, is testing ‘deep green’ thinking for the Central District row home developments. Vida was already slated as a sustainable Built Green project, but a unique buyer agreement between seller, Dana Stream and Isola Homes’ Director of Acquistion, Ron Froton, included more.

“I had a vision for this land, and wanted to work with a builder who would partner with me to design for the health and wellness of the Central District community for future generations,” said Stream.”

Isola Homes purchased the land and incorporated the following goals and objective throughout the development of 15 row homes:

o To promote sense of community and place; Communal courtyard with no fencing or gates

o To provide each unit a Personal Green Space; Living green-roofs on each unit that also work to mitigate water runoff.

o To promote health; Use non-toxic building materials in the interior and exterior of the home. No Torch Down Roofing and All Millwork shall be Urea Formaldehyde free (or no UF-added product)

o To respect the Earth’s natural magnetic frequency; Replace metal rebar with fiberglass rebar in the slab

o To protect Indoor Air Quality eliminate Forced Air Heating or Cooling Systems

o To Mitigate unnecessary exposure to Electro Magnetic Frequencies (EMFs) employ prudent EMF installation techniques; Use Shielded Wiring and Remove overhead lighting in the bedrooms

Isola Homes is one of Seattle’s fastest growing home builders specializing in sustainable urban townhomes. Isola has aleady won numerous awards, and twice it won the Green Hammer award . While Isola is using new green building techniques, there is a definitely a committment to the neighborhood and Vida community.

Members of Isola Homes’ Vida team, including Dana Stream will be on site during the 2015 NW Green Home Tour on Saturday, April 25 from 10a.m. to 5p.m.
