While choosing a smartphone (Android or iPhone), battery life is the prime concern of every user. Most of the times, smartphone’s battery drains quickly and you have to charge your device frequently no matter it is an Android device or an Apple one.

If you are an iPhone 4S user, you might have noticed that after a few hours of regular use your iPhone starts popping low battery alerts. This is very annoying situation. Check the signal strength indicator
When you are in poor network coverage area, your phone continuously searches for the signals; that drains the battery very quickly. Therefore, it is better to switch off the phone or put it on Airplane Mode while in no network or poor network coverage.

Do not sync apps
Avoid synchronization of apps. When you enable auto-sync of email accounts or social networking apps and other chatting apps on your device, they automatically get refreshed in every few minutes and send you notifications. This way these apps eat lots of data and battery too. To avoid this, check your emails and other social accounts manually.
Go to Settings >> select Mail, Contacts or Calendars option >> Fetch to New Data>> use slider next to this and turn off syncing.

Turn the GPS off
Most of the apps track your location continuously and drain lots of battery. You could turn off the location services for improved battery life.
Go to the Settings >> select Privacy >> go to Location Services.
Now toggle the On/Off slider next to this option and turn them off.

Regularly update applications
Sometime application updates contain some new fixes that can boost the battery life of your iPhone. Therefore, it is always recommended for users to install available updates. For this-

Avoid using screen saver and live wallpapers
In order to boost your iPhone’s battery life, avoid using live wall papers and screen savers. Instead of using those, keep your lock screen black to optimize the battery life. Also, you could low down the screen brightness to decrease battery consumption.
