Hi Jonathan, thanks for the informative article. I am going to launch my first publication soon and that’s what brought me here. I have few questions if you could share your thoughts.

  1. How do you know your publication is doing well ? Please mention both tangible and intangible metrics.
  2. What is the life cycle of a publication from launching to monetizing and may be someday something like Huffington Post, who knows ? Could you please take me through your thought process ?

In a very short span I have close to 500 followers and I write for a publication which is not mine. I love writing there, but as I write more I also want a sequence to be maintained which gets missing when you are writing for a big publication. So, if you were in such a situation what would you do? Write at both the places or select one over the other.
