Inspiring a New Generation to Defy the Bounds of Innovation: A Moonshot to Cure Cancer
Joe Biden (Archives)

Dear Vice President Biden, Cancer has ruined the last 3 Christmas’ at my house. On December 18, 2013 my 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B cell Lymphoma, Non Hodgkins Stage 3. After very aggressive chemo at CHOP my daughter left a survivor! On December 23, 2014 my husband went to the hospital with a very bad pain in his belly. On December 24 he had a large cancerous tumor removed from his colon. He was told he was a cancer survivor, they got it all!! He had preventative chemo and was clear for 6 months. On December 18, 2015 he was told that his cancer had metastisized and spread to his duodenum. He now has Metastatic Colon Cancer and will start his first round of chemo this Friday. He will be at the Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania!! He was told that this cancer is not curable but it is manageable. I pray to God that a cure is found before it’s too late for my husband. Cancer doesn’t stop there for us, on July 15, 2015 one of my daughter’s best friends that she met through CHOP lost his battle with Ewing Sarcoma. Before he died he went to the funerals for at least 5 of his friends. All under the age of 18 years old!
