It’s not a bad idea, but it’s not a good name. JavaScript is already universal, it’s how you structure and write your code that determines whether it runs on a device, a server, in the browser or all of the above.
If the inspiration from the name comes from Apple, take note that when they talk about universal apps, they mean apps that run both iPad and iPhone. They don’t talk about Universal Swift or Universal Objective-C. That would be meaningless. And so is Universal JavaScript.
