This is fascism
Brendan O'Neill

I take issue with the claim that fascism is an exclusively right wing phenomenon especially when it is backed up with quotes from Trotsky. Trotsky in my view ticked all the necessary boxes to qualify as a fascist. The Bolsheviks were the ultimate fascist movement long before Mussolini or Hitler applied their own brand; which wasn't so different in the end.

That the Bolsheviks didn't call themselves fascists is irrelevant. Communism was fascism in practise and Trotsky could easily have been a role model for Hitler even if Hitler would have denied that.
