Yes I think that is a very interesting way of looking at it and I agree.

I wrote a little rant on feminism as a religion once on AM (I think). But it could just as easily have applied to communism. Marxism was a religion just like feminism. Organised religion basically worships itself and its orthodoxy which often has little in common with the teachings of an ancient carpenter who probably would not have wanted anything to do with any of them.

So Stalin could be described as a Bishop of communism and still employing the methods of the seminary to enforce his own version of communist dictatorship.
