Skywest (dba United Express) 5652 Flight Report — N792SK

I was quite lucky as this aircraft is equipped with the new United slimline interior and GoGo wifi. My mom is telling me to say that they ran out of Diet Coke… Great… We departed out of gate 17 at the commuter terminal at Palm Springs. TSA and checking in was a breeze.

Flew this exact AAL MD80 (N9401W) from ORD-PSP.
Walking to the commuter terminal you get a fantastic view of the aircraft parked at the Sonny Bono Concourse.

We boarded via a ramp and not a jetway, which was pretty cool.

The Safety Card for the CRJ-700, seated in 20D.

We pushed back, taxiied, and departed off 31L (screencap from video.)

As we reached 10k feet, the flight attendants started coming by to give drinks out (unfortunately no pics…) The back of the plane was completely empty so I decided to take an opportunity to photograph.

By this time, we had about 45–50 minutes before landing. Once the airport came into sight, I took some photos of IAH from above.

(Full Flight Video Coming Soon) We landed at IAH about 30 minutes early, which was great. As we came in we flew over the cargo (terminal?) and a CargoLux 748 with a special livery, Gold Atlas Air 744, and Volga Dnepr (I think) AN-124.

Volga Dnepr is hidden by the winglet.

We parked at B17 and I was able to get into the flight deck to talk to the captain and de-boarded, once again, via a ramp. Which gave a pretty cool photo op.

Overall Flight Rating: 7/10
This was a fantastic flight, but the seats were a bit cramped as expected, and the fact that they ran out of Diet Coke was a down aswell.

Palm Springs Airport Rating: 10/10
Had a fantastic experience at Palm Springs! TSA, Check-in, and boarding was very quick and smooth. From check-in to sitting down in seat 20D, it was not longer than an hour.

Houston George-Bush Airport: 10/10
Great airport! Signs aren’t hard to understand and the airport is clean.
