This Is How Your Fear and Outrage Are Being Sold for Profit

Very clear description of the mechanism. You have brought all the "I kinda knew that" stuff together into a concise and clever presentation.

Here's a thought: instead of merely allowing the Facebook and Google sites of the world to one-sidedly benefit from monetizing our data, how about a Monetized Data Compensation Act, allowing the platform to keep only a reasonable portion of the revenues generated; after deducting expenses and taking a SMALL profit, the rest comes back proportionally to ALL the people whose data generated the income. This would of course mean millions or even billions of micropayments per day to all the registered members.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
