My share auto travel
Today I decided to take the share auto to work. In my city this is a form of public transport. This vehicle can seat 8–9 passengers comfortably. Inevitably the driver will jam the vehicle with more passengers to make his profit. So enjoy the ride when you are comfortable and not yet squashed. I love to watch people and observe people behaviour.
All my co passengers were women. Women of different age groups and varied backgrounds sat huddled together. The two young ones were sitting hunched with ear phones plugged in. One was a domestic help screaming into the phone to her employer that she was on the way. After hanging up she was busy mumbling angrily.
Yet another woman was cribbing to someone about her perennial problems at home.
One woman stared faraway into the horizon. One was ecstatically talking to her ‘uncle’ claiming that she had aced her interview. Yet another was whining about her church priest being too interfering and nosy.
Amused I wondered at everything. Meanwhile the driver was driving as if he was Michael Schumacher. His battered vehicle made ussway and giggle. For a moment we were one in our laughter.
I then saw her. She was around my age. Dressed neatly and attractively she was busy texting on her phone. She would frown, smile and then blush. I wondered to whom she was texting. Her blush and the loony grin – was she in a romantic relationship? Ah the joys of romance.
My ride also came to an end.
