Will do @ 2016!!!

All of us have a 'to do list', which is either written down or tucked away in some corner of our brain. We keep on adding to the list irrespective of whether we have achieved to complete the earlier things listed. Around new year the list is dusted off its cobwebs, and we look at it with determination saying, "this year I am going to conquer this list".

It could be a modest wish list with achievable wishes.
We are never happy with the way we look, and being skinny is the way to be. You also have to fit in your old jeans. I am sure this one will be on top of your list, "I will get up early in the morning, join the gym, exercise everyday and lose some weight". You even start imagining shopping for clothes that fit perfectly on a slimmer you.

From sleep to wakefulness, we love to hit the snooze button and tend to grab a few more minutes of sleep/ dreaming, (some friends claim that the stolen sleep is sweeter than a full night's sleep) and thereby messing up the morning routine. Reach office on time, will be a priority for the new year.

Learn to cook, you do want to eat healthy, save money by eating at home, cooking was something that you thought you could learn anytime, but never got around to doing it. This year you have made up your mind, shopped for groceries, bought shiny cooking pans, bookmarked a whole bunch of recipes and will learn to whip a gourmet meal.

Play the tabla, that looks so cool. You have to be part of the cool gang, has to be on the list.

Save money, you are like a sieve when it comes to money, and online shopping at your fingertips doesn't help. This year no excessive expensive shopping and you dream of saving up loads of money.

As you have saved money, reached office in time, look hot in shorts because of losing weight, you will be able to travel to exotic destinations, the link of exotic destinations is all saves up on your computer.

You can dance without inhibitions and have fun, but if skill is added to the dancing, there will be no stopping you. You want to tango like the stars, shimmy like a belly dancer, for that you have enrolled in a dance class.

Get another degree, pursue a hobby, meet friends often, keep in touch with relatives, spend time with children, work with a charitable organization, so many things to do and each one becomes a part of a new year resolution.

After partying late at night, you gather your will power and start working on your list with enthusiasm. But after a few days the enthusiasm has fizzled out and you are back to your old routine, thinking its too difficult.

Don't wait for a new year to get things done, insert changes when you feel the time is right. Don't try to wear too many hats at once. Set a time limit for one task,
START IT,
Reach a level of comfort and expertise and then go for the second task on your list. This way you will be motivated to complete the list and achieving your goals. Even when writing the date, it takes time for the new year number to sink in, your goals will be in sync with you in no time and you will have scaled the mountains of obstacles with your determination.

After all new year is just a change of date, you can begin afresh when you have a change of heart without waiting for the new year.

Wishing everyone a very happy new year.
