Zoom Out Effect

This effect will allow you more versatility with transitions and creating a move intimate feel.

At the 0:45 mark of the video below is a great example of the zoom out effect.

In order to perform this transition you will need two separate clips of the same location. A close up shot and a wide (far away) shot. It can be done in either Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

  1. Place the videos on the time line. First the zoomed in clip and then the zoomed out clip.
  2. At the intersection of the two clips we will place Which ever effect we are going for whether it is zoom out or zoom in. Below is what some of the effects look like located in the effects window in Final Cut Pro.

Once that operation is complete you will end up with a very smooth, simple and creative way to add a different element to your videos.
