Why sharing is caring?

Often it is observed that people who understand God like to talk of Him.

What can we understand this? Why does this happen? Why do people talk spirituality with other people?

For this let us read below a short story to relate to the question.

There was once a farmer who grew the most superior quality corn in his vicinity. Every year, he was honoured by the state for his eminence. A journalist interviewed him once, to know the secret behind his successful corn.

To his surprise, he learnt that the farmer shared his corn seed with his neighbourhood farmers. The journalist was puzzled. “How can you afford to share your best corn with your neighbours when they are running in the same race as you?” asked the journalist.

“Oh, Why Sir? Didn’t you know the theory of pollination? The wind picks up pollen from the ripened corns and twirls them from a field to field. If I need my corn to be good, I have to help my neighbours grow the corn I wished. For if they didn’t, then eventually their inferior corn will cross-pollinate and degrade the quality of my corn.”

This gives us an insight into the connections in life! If we want our corn to be good, we must help our neighbours to grow the best corn too. Meaning thereby, those who choose harmony over jealousy help their near and dear ones to be at peace. They help others to live well in order for them to lead a happy life. Success does not happen in seclusion. It is often is a process of participation and communal effort.

So likewise what is happening in the universe is the same. People who get to know of the lord want others to know him as they do. They have realized that there is nothing superior to the ultimate truth. They want to talk to other people for they believe in totality. For they believe that if others are in peace, so would they be. If their surroundings are clean, so would their own mind, body and soul be. There would no longer exit any negativity or dirty malevolent talks to pull back them into the false world. For them to be happy at all times, it is important for people around them to be happy as well.

There were these four blind men who touched an elephant all at the same time. One said, “The elephant is like a pole”, for he touched its legs. The second said, “The elephant is like a thick club”, for he touched its trunk. The third said, “The elephant is like a big jar”, for he touched its belly. The fourth said, “The elephant is like a big fan”, for he touched its ears. Now all of them started to quarrel amongst each other, debating on the shape and size of the elephant. A passer-by, who was watching this whole incident, interrupted to solve the quarrel. The man said, “I am sorry to say, but none of you is right and none of you is wrong. The elephant is so big that you all are touching its different parts at the same time. And this is why you all have different opinions. The elephant is all of these — the legs, trunk, belly, ears and much more.” The blind people laughed at their foolishness, thanked the man and moved on.

In the same way, those who talk about God, only know a part of Him. God is “in this and in that” but God is neither “this nor that.” Worshipping God, with full faith, any form, any name, gives us insight to his vastness. Discussing Him with more people only helps us to become more peaceful and calm.
