I think it’s undeniable that the hacks were backed by the Russians. The problem is: that Russia was behind the hacks is neither here nor there with respect to the truthfulness of the contents of the released emails, nor to the problematic aspects of the Clinton campaign that were raised by the released emails.

Or in other words: it’s bad and wrong that Russia hacked the DNC. It was also bad and wrong that the DNC rigged the primary, was totally myopic and completely opaque. The first wrong does not absolve the second wrong.
