Thanks for the post, Wil. I really couldn’t agree more. I fully understand some people's hesitation when it comes to Hillary, as she has a very long political history to pick at. But picking at her life is exactly why I think she’s an excellent candidate, and not nearly the horror that some would have you believe.
She’s a creature of 30+ years of politics, and as such has long lived under the microscope. At some point you would think people would realize that after all of the investigations, all of the accusations etc. that some actual wrong-doing would have been found. Instead what has been found are some actions that showed bad judgement, and what are very typical behaviors for people in the political world.
I encourage those who would effectively elect Trump by tossing away their votes on a third party candidate actually take a pause and examine what she has achieved politically, and how those achievements align with progressive goals.
I think sometimes people forget how politics and governance work. It is impossible to effectively govern, no matter what your political goal or bent, without compromise. Compromise very often means doing something or allowing something that you dislike, or perhaps even despise. But compromise and politicking are the only way Democracies work, and I sure as hell don’t want the alternative, which is authoritarian rule.
Please, please vote Hillary this November!
PS Hope you make it to GenCon this year!
