“Broken-hearted Old woman”

It was a day like none other

She woke up to a beeping sound

She hated it

Got up from bed and stretched her body out.

Had an almost restless night of sleep

Before the nurse could come in

Room 314 was her room

She took a look at an old crumpled wedding photo

There by the side of her bed

Her fiance

Dressed in his gorgeous tuxedo

Her in her beautiful white wedding dress

Tears slid down her face

She quickly dashed them away from her cheeks

She knew the truth

She lost her husband years back

She felt guilty

She felt angry at everything, including her husband

She blames herself

Wished and thought she could use a drink —

Red or white, she wondered…

All she thought about were the memories

Scattered all around her like a hundred piece puzzle

Trying to put it all back together again

Using pieces so small and when placed, they either fit

Or didn’t — Who knew it would?

She DID however, felt hopeful that she would see her beau

again… In the next life called Elysium and living with him

for all Eternity.
