(This method might surprise YOU!)

Etsy is one of the fastest growing e-commerce businesses.

If you Google the keyword ‘make money online,’ selling on Etsy definitely appears on the list. I mean it has to be there!

Why?

Because of the opportunities ETSY provides in terms of making that so-called passive income.

But, it has its own down sides too!

It’s not a get-rich-quick thing for sure.

Check out this handpicked list which I’ve curated specifically for someone who’s willing to earn money through Etsy.

Etsy Marketing & Selling Tips

Now, one of the biggest challenges most Etsy sellers face is — Lack of Reach.

I know you can use Etsy ads to get instant eyeballs, but if you’re just starting out in this business, spending money on ads can be a bit challenging for YOU.

So, what would you do?

Is it POSSIBLE for you to get organic traffic to your shop without spending a dime?

The answer is YES, an absolute YES.

You can get organic traffic to your store without putting out any money.

Though it may not be as quick as the Etsy ads, still, you can make it happen.

All you’ve to do is to leverage the power of one of the biggest social media platforms out there!

And no, it’s not — Instagram or Twitter.

It’s a bit different, but way more special.

I’ve generated 40% organic traffic using that social media platform.

Wondering what this social media platform is?

Without putting too much pressure to your nerves, let me introduce you to my organic traffic source.

It’s — Pinterest.

Pinterest is one of the best ways to find organic reach and that too — Free of Cost.

I’m using this as my primary advertising platform.

This has helped me bring that much organic traffic and trust me, you can do that too!

Here’s a step-by-step guide that will help you promote your Etsy store using Pinterest!

Read along and follow all the steps carefully to see amazing results.

Let’s begin!

Step 1 : Create a Pinterest Business Account

First of all, set up a Pinterest Business account.

This might sound fancy, but don’t worry, it’s completely free and easy to set up.

Grab the Pinterest Business Account Setup Checklist here!

With a business account you get access to specialized tools, including Pinterest Analytics.

Pinterest Analytics

By using the analytics tool you can get a bunch of information like how users interact with your Pins, the demographics of your audience, etc.

Step 2: Optimize Your Pinterest Profile

Like any other social media platform, optimizing your profile is a must on Pinterest.

When someone visits your Pinterest profile, they essentially see five key elements:

  • Banner: This is the top section of your profile, which includes a cover image or banner that provides a visual representation of your brand or business.

You can put your Etsy store banner here.

  • Profile Image: This is the small image that appears next to your username.

You can use your own photo or either put a logo of your store here.

  • Bio: Use this space to tell visitors what they can expect from your profile.

For example, if you sell ‘wall art prints’, your bio could say something like,

‘Discover unique wall art prints to elevate your space with style and personality.’

  • Username: Your username is prominently displayed in your profile and serves as your unique identifier on Pinterest.
  • Destination Link: This is the link that users will be directed to when they click on your profile.

It’s typically used to link to your website, blog, or in this case, your Etsy shop.

You can add a link on Pinterest by following these steps:

  • On the top-right corner, you’ll see a drop-down arrow below your profile picture. Click on that. Then choose ‘Settings’.
  • You’ll see the ‘Website’ option.

Paste the URL of your Etsy store in this box and click ‘Save’.

Your Etsy store will be linked to your Pinterest profile.

This is a sample of my Pinterest profile. You can take a note of all the five key elements I’ve mentioned above.

Step 3 : Create & Post Relevant Content

This is the most crucial part.

No matter how optimized your profile looks, if you don’t put the relevant content on it, nobody is going to visit that.

Because ultimately — Content is the driving force.

On Pinterest, you share your content in the form of Pins.

The standard pin size is 1000 * 1050.

Start creating pins of your products using any graphic design software.

I personally use Canva, because I find it more convenient, but you can use the one you like.

You can also give a try to these Canva alternatives⬇️

While creating your pins, also try to follow the 5 Pinterest Hacks.

So, now that you’ve a bunch of pins, it’s time to post them.

Posting on Pinterest is pretty simple.

Here’s how to do this!

  • Click on ‘Pinterest’ in the top-left corner.
  • Under the ‘Create’ tab, select ‘Create Pin’.

You’ll see the Pinterest Uploader.

I’ve shared everything on how to post optimized pin in my Pinterest Master Guide, you can check it out.

Bonus Hack!

As per my experience, when you use the same link over and over again on Pinterest, the platform might think it’s spam.

To avoid this, try using different links.

This way, you keep your Pinterest activity authentic and prevent any problems with your account.

Step 4: Repeat, Learn, Implement!

This is my personal favorite trick, which I also apply in my content journey!

First, repeat the actions that bring results — whether it’s creating Pins or engaging with your audience.

Next, take the time to learn from your experiences.

Analyze what’s working well and what’s not, so you can make informed decisions moving forward.

Finally, implement any necessary changes or improvements based on what you’ve learned.

And, that’s it!

Final Thoughts🎯

Follow the steps mentioned above, stay consistent, and you’ll definitely start getting organic traffic soon!

See you in the next value-packed article.

Till then, keep learning, keep growing!
