Social media platforms are a number game!

I’m sure you must have heard about this phrase once in a while, if you’re on the urge of building your online presence, just like me😊.

Some say you should post tons of content.

While others say you should post once in a while.

Different people. Different notions.

And, this notion isn’t only limited to the advisors, it also depends on the person who’s supposed to create content i.e. YOU.

All of us possess different abilities in terms of mental strength, physical capabilities, organization skills, etc.

These factors directly affect the quality and quantity of the content you produce.

Recently I’ve crossed 10k pins on my Pinterest account.

As a solo creator, this achievement felt like a major win.

It all started with that very first pin I created and posted on my profile.

And, I must tell you that the first pin which I made was HORRIBLE, in every term.

Back then, reaching 10,000 pins seemed like a distant dream, because I also had a 9–5 which required a major chunk of my time and effort.

However, I made a conscious effort to consistently post content alongside my job.

Here are the 3 hacks that have helped me stay consistent and achieve those amazing results ⬇️

1. Time Blocking

This is the most helpful trick when it comes to increasing productivity.

Have you heard about Parkinson’s Law?

According to this law :

Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

This means that the amount of time it takes to complete a task often expands to fit the time allotted for it, regardless of the actual complexity of the task.

So, you need to set a boundary wall for yourself.

OR

A time limit.

Time blocking is the best way to set a time limit for your tasks.

It involves scheduling specific time slots for tasks.

For me, during my 9–5 job, I reserved mornings and evenings for content-related activities like brainstorming pin titles, designing pins, and learning how to refine my skills.

By blocking my time in this way, I conditioned my brain to be ready for the work I needed to do.

Once you’ve blocked your time you’ve to make sure you put visual cues in front of you, as mentioned in ‘Atomic Habits’

I’ve also used this trick till now.

I’ve set reminders on my phone (which act as visual cues) to make sure that I do the work that I planned to do.

2. Batch Content

Batching content is about doing similar tasks together in one go rather than spreading them out.

Generally, pin generation involves the following stages:

  • Creating Pin Titles : This stage involves brainstorming and crafting catchy and descriptive titles for your pins.

I’ve created an Excel sheet for that.

  • Finding Visuals : Visual content is key on Pinterest, so finding high-quality images or graphics that complement your pin titles is essential.

The visuals should be eye-catching, relevant to your content, and optimized for Pinterest’s vertical format.

I personally use Canva which has millions of stock photos.

So, I don’t have to search multiple stock photo websites to find the perfect fit.

If you’re also using Canva, that’s good.

If you’re not using it, you can check this post to learn about the best stock photo websites⬇️

  • Combining Visual & Text Elements : Once you have your pin titles and visuals ready, the next step is to combine them into a cohesive pin design.

This is a crucial step because it will determine whether people will click on your pin or not.

While creating the pin, it’s important to ensure that the text on your pin stands out and is easy to read.

This means picking fonts and colors that are easy to read, even with a quick glance.

  • Posting the Pin: After creating your pin, it’s time to post it on Pinterest.

When posting the pin, be sure to optimize the pin description with relevant keywords to improve its visibility in Pinterest searches.

By using the batch content method for doing all the tasks listed above, you’ll save a ton of your precious time.

3. Right Tools + Consistency = Success

You know what’s the first thing that determines your success on any platform, apart from consistency?

It’s — Tools!

And, there’s no doubt about the fact that if you use the right tools and stay consistent you’re bound to succeed.

To select tools like a pro, start by identifying your specific needs.

Consider what tasks you need assistance with, such as graphic design, scheduling, etc.

Then, research and evaluate different tools and software options that align with your requirements.

For example, if you need help with graphic design, you might consider using design tools like Canva or Kittl.

If you want to schedule your pins in advance, you could use the inbuilt Pinterest schedular or Tailwind.
