How Much Should Jeans Cost?
Megan Reynolds

I have a special problem with jeans, which is that I ride my bike everywhere and don’t wear “bike-specific” clothing. This means crotch blow-out on jeans. I used to always buy Old Navy jeans (~$20, depending on sales), but they would occasionally blow out in less than a quarter. I bought a fancy pair of LL Bean jeans ($70) this winter that are supposed to be bike/activity-proof, and even those are getting close to blow-out.

I know men’s jeans are built to be more sturdy than women’s jeans, and I hate them for it. I’ll happily wear other men’s clothes on the regular, but the pants don’t fit. Sigh.
