Agile Method Meme

Introduction

Hi there👋, I am Amik, a Product Management enthusiast. Currently, I am working as a Product Manager at two Indonesian startups. I just re-subscribed to LinkedIn Premium to learn about Project Management, because my last ivew, I failed to answer the questions haha stupid me😪! So, here I am, happy to share my knowledge. So, let’s enjoy the ride, shall we?😎

Nowadays, as a project grows, you don’t know what the solution looks like, or how to build it, so you have to figure it out as you go. This type of project requires a different approach called the Agile method, which:

  • Sprints deliver product features at regular intervals
  • Value delivered sooner
  • More customer involvement
  • Small independent teams

Based on Jim Highsmith’s “Agile Project Management”, the Agile lifecycle includes:

— Envision

This one is similar to Waterfall’s initiation. This is when you define the product vision and an initial set of goals. But, because the solution isn’t clear, then the goals are likely to change over the course of the project.

— Speculate

This process is a type of planning, where you create, revise, and prioritize the feature list based on technical and business considerations. You also estimate effort and identify risks. For instance, when you start the next Sprint, you don’t drag the first few features from the backlog, but, you review the entire backlog and decide which features to include in the Sprint.

— Explore

During this process, the team builds and delivers the features for the Sprint. The small, independent teams of highly skilled people make it easier to get the work done.

— Adapt

This is part of the Sprint where you review (retrospective) the results delivered and lessons learned. Based on feedback, you may change your process, or rework a feature that isn’t quite right.

— Close

When the final Sprint is accepted, then you close the project and document lessons learned.

You can leave your valuable feedback to improve or you can hit the clap if it helps you or just say hi & connect with me on my LinkedIn 🙌
