Politicians are crap

Politicians are crap.
On 9th May 2018, Malaysians went out to the street, celebrating the change in government, from the 60-year ruling party of BN to the newly formed coalition, PH. Rakyat were happy, all over the country. Rakyat were imagining a new, clean government, clear from any crap, only focusing on rakyat, rakyat, rakyat. Rakyat were imagining the lower cost of living. Rakyat were imagining more jobs for youth. Rakyat were imagining no more debt (read: PTPTN) for youth. Rakyat kept imagining.
Politicians are crap.
Politicians are expected to do their work, their true work, to think about the welfare and well-being of the rakyat. Politicians are supposed to serve the rakyat, coming out with policies to solve issues, like real issues, not crap issues. Cost of living, jobs, expensive housing, flood, urban poverty, commodity price, higher income. Not like crap comics, next prime minister, cleopatra, flying cars, Najib’s sore eyes.
Politicians are crap.
Lobbying for corporates, negotiating with landowners, meddling internal employer-employee issues, lower ceiling for foreigners to buy expensive houses, few ringgits for crap e-wallet, blaming Najib for everything, selling airline, selling highways, white paper, white paper, white paper, asking rakyat to plant freaking buluh! Are these critical issues? Do rakyat really need these to live their life? Do rakyat really need politicians for these? How about education? How about income? Jobs? Innovation? Climate change?
Politicians are crap.
They don’t serve the rakyat. It’s not their priority. They want to survive. What kind of survival? Oh no, not survival like rakyat in Kerinchi barely getting income to buy rice for their family by getting only RM2,000 per month. No. Their survival is to keep their power, keep their position. Pretending that they fight for the rakyat while behind the scene, figuring out chess movements here and there in making sure of their survival. Jumping, changing sides, swinging, here and there, so long as they can keep their influence and position, to survive. Crap.
Politicians are crap.
Let’s look at today’s news or even these past few months about our politicians. Gossips, conspiracies are everywhere. Chess moves. Every day. Everywhere. They keep moving, strategising, for their benefits, their survival. At what cost? Of course, the rakyat. Imagine every single day, their focus is only on their so-called chess movement, who is going to think about rakyat then? Who is going to think about formulae to improve our economy? Who is going to prepare the rakyat with the anxiously-as-rumoured-or-forecasted upcoming R? Who is going to give solutions to rakyat’s real problem?
Politicians are crap.
Let’s be honest, you, reader of this writing, a normal citizen, aren’t you fed up with our politicians? Aren’t you afraid that we elected the wrong politicians? Like both sides, be it government or opposition, did we use our rakyat’s power to make a change for the country? Yes, rakyat changed the government. But did rakyat change the country? Don’t you think as days go by, politicians are getting and becoming more desperate? Showing all their crap chess moves, their old school playbooks. Don’t you get tired of all this? Well, I do.
Politicians are crap.
I do think we deserve better. We deserve more from our ELECTED politicians. We are supposed to get better rewards from getting rid of the old government. But did we felt it?
Seriously, we need a new set of leaders, away and independent from the current set of political parties, to work for us, to fight for us, to deliver our voices and concerns to the table, be it state or federal seats. Let’s hope for a new group of leaders, honest leaders, to appear, to come out on the stage, and fight for the rakyat.
Or, should we get rid of the thoughts of hoping for other ‘new politicians’ to appear, and we, be that person, that leader, who walk the talk and really, really fight for rakyat’s sake? Because we, Malaysians, deserve better than these crap politicians.
PS: This article is written not to say all elected politicians are crap. I know some of them get down to their respective constituency, roll up their sleeves, and do their work, serving the rakyat. Thank you for your service!
PSS: Initially, I used BS instead of crap. But since I am posting this on Medium, I thought of toning down the BS word.
