PASINAYA 2016

Salu-salo sa sining : arts-all-you-can para sa buong pamilya

February 7, 2016

Whoaah there!!! I just want to share my experience to the unexpected event I attended recently. And here it is.

Last February 7, 2016, me and my friends went to CCP to witness their event called Salu-salo sa sining: arts-all-you-can para sa buong pamilya. Of course, if this is not a requirement in our AESTHET class, the tendency is I will not ever know this event or worst is that it will be my least priority in a day. But, as I said a while ago, it’s really an unexpected event because of what I experience and saw in the different forms of arts inside the celebration. So join me and explore what I see for proof.

Kaloob Philippine music and dance ministry

First stop is those people who is dancing wearing those reds and blacks like an igorots or someone that wears indigenous costumes of their tribes. It’s not as good as what I expected but when I see that the music is not plug-in in the mixer and heard in the speaker, I went to the ‘ahh’ moment and realized I should see this because of my love to music. After that, I appreciate the performance not only because of those musicians, but also I because I leave my selfish expectations and started to feel their music and dance.

VSR (Batangas City)

Next, we went outside because it is the most accessible venue to watch a performance. There, we witness the folk-to-contemporary dance of VSR or Vilma Santos-Recto Dance troupe. Honestly, I’m not impressed on their dance but maybe it’s just me. Someone might experience astonishment to what they see.

Para sa sining: “Ang paglaya”

This part somehow amazed because of their unique interpretation of art. Their performance is a combination of music which is cielo making (left), interpretative dance (center), and oratorical speech (right). What makes this wonderful is really because of the person who speaks whom was accompanied by a cielo player. I remember to him what I watch about Juan Severo. His words chills me and makes me to listen to what words will utter to his mouth. Overall, I’m impressed and it’s a great experience.

Twinkle: toes ballet and music

Other forms of art is through dancing and it includes ballet. I witness those dancers but of course, they are just kids so I don’t feel amaze instead, I feel happy because of those cute toddlers who effortly dance through their toes and tries to entertain the viewers.

Perpetual Dance Company

I feel sad because I didn’t saw the performance of our school’s dance troupe: Romancon Dance Company. Instead, I saw the performance of Perpetual. Their performance is good because they are many and they went along to dance for the viewers. It’s just the performance is long and it makes me bored sometimes. But the thing is I didn’t see Romancon.

Kagayon Dance Troupe

They said, “save the best for the last”. This last performance didn’t fails me to be amazed because it’s very unique and chilling. I don’t know what kind of art they did, but honestly, it’s like a world class for me. Their routine is different and it will make you to the point of “just watch and learn”. It’s really a great performance and I admire their dance and it is performance that I can boast and share with others.

PASINAYA 2016 gives me time to appreciate the forms of every art that people can know. It includes musics, workshops, theaters, films, dances, and other variety shows. It’s almost free because you just need to donate anything that is in your pocket and you’re already in for the celebration. I feel grateful to see those performance because it’s very relaxing and even in a while, I forget my assignments and stressful academic activities. I will not regret the experience and promise to myself that I should witness the PASINAYA 2017 next year. For me it’s already a must.

Signing off…
