If you’re looking to get involved in DeFi, you’ve probably heard about airdrops. Airdrops are a great way to get your hands on some crypto assets without having to purchase them or trade them.
SybilDAO is hosting an airdrop on the Goerli testnet where each user gets a distribution of 100 SYB tokens. Note that funds on testnets do not hold real value and are used for testing purposes only.
So, how do you claim the SYB airdrop on Goerli? Here’s what you need to do:
1. Get a Goerli-compatible wallet
The first step is to get a wallet that’s compatible with Goerli. There are several different wallets that you can use, such as Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, and Trust Wallet. Make sure that you choose a wallet that’s compatible with the Goerli test network.
We recommend Metamask which is a browser plugin and the most widely used digital wallet.
2. Connect your wallet to the Goerli network
Once you’ve chosen a wallet, you need to connect it to the Goerli network. You can do this by selecting the network at the top of metamask. Note that if you haven’t used a testnet before you might need to switch the “Show/Hide Test Networks” option.
3. Fund Your Wallet
To use the Goerli testnet, you’ll need to fund your account to pay transaction fees with “Goerli Eth”, which is the testnet’s native currency. You can get Goerli Ether from a Goerli Faucet. Simply enter your account address in the Faucet, and you’ll receive some free Goerli Ether.

4. Claim the airdrop
Once you have some Goeli ETH you can head over to the air drop page at:
Click the “Claim Airdrop” and sign the transaction in Metamask.
Safety Note: You should always use a separate wallet when testing new sites from the one you use for your mainnet funds.
5. Receive your airdrop.
Once you’ve successfully claimed the airdrop, you should receive your tokens in your Goerli wallet. This will take up to 30 seconds so be patient. Once the transaction confirms you’ll get a “TRANSACTION COMPLETE” message and an option to add the tokens to metamask.
By default metamask wont recognize newly minted tokens so you need to either click the “Add to metamask” button or add the token contract address which is: 0x7927BEa1eA84614DCeAECa1710cea8a7DeAa1d25
And that’s it! You now successfully used the Goerli testnet to claim an airdrop. Airdrops are a great way to get involved in the DeFi world without having to purchase or trade crypto assets. With the Goerli testnet, you can get started without risking your own funds.
