Why is Disney revamping our childhood?
Rilee Macaluso

I really liked your article. I have been thinking the same thing recently. I am a huge Disney fan. When I heard about the Beauty and the Beast remake, I had a countdown going for like 3 months. The advertisers played on this however. I don’t think I have ever seen so many advertisements for a children’s movie in my whole life. It was on tv, instagram, twitter, snapchat etc.

Also, I was almost kind of sad when I walked into the theater. There were probably 50 little kids in the small McMinnville theater. Most of them were 3 or 4. Think about that. The original movie was made almost 30 years ago. They have probably never seen it! This is their first exposure to Beauty and the Beast. My childhood will be so different than theirs. When they think of the beauty, they picture Emma Watson. We all picture a cartoon beauty. I thought that was really sad. It isn’t a bad thing, it just is starting to make me feel old! (AND I’M ONLY 19!!!)
