The home town boys are back. Marianas Trench, local band, completed their Last Crusade Tour in Abbotsford on February 12, 2017. Rescheduling the show a couple of times the band finally performed on the Monday. With openers Shawn Hook and Virginia to Vegas, the arena was mildly filled.

People may have lost interest after the dates changed twice. Dedicated fans have been waiting for a while, and they finally got to see it. What made up for it was it was the last show of the tour, thus random spontaneous pranks happened by Shawn Hook and Josh Ramsey, lead singer of Marianas Trench, himself.

Fans screamed when the spotlight hit on cue when Ian Casselman, drummer, struck the first beats. Opening with Astoria, Ramsey recently had surgery on his vocal tissues, and gave it his all. Taking breaks and letting Mike Ayley, bassist, and Matt Webb, guitarist, take over for certain songs.

Singing old school songs from Master Piece Theater, like Celebrity Status, fans definitely enjoyed every single song. With amazing spectacles, their guitars lit up the night, literally. I went to the previous tour, The Astoria Tour, which had a similar set list, but Ramsey was hauled into the air on a trapezes set making it much more spectacular. Understanding it was a smaller arena tour, they didn’t have the space to do that, but it would’ve been a fun addition. Ramsey ran through the crowd while transitioning to the second stage, where Shawn Hook laid upon his piano as Josh did during Hooks set. Hilarious laughter filled the arena when both performers dressed up in a nice black gown.

Overall the show was so insane, I was definitely exhausted by the end. Ears ringing from the loud sounds and voices lost in the screams. It was a great way to end this tour. Everyone went full out making it that much better.
