IN PERSON DROP

This an in person drop project has been assigned by amal academy to me to go #extramile and to know the real meaning of struggle to achieve your goal.
After researching about a lot of companies for my relevant field which is of Finance department, I found one company which I thought would be easily accessable and I will get a better experience of dropping CV and cover letter and it was PEL(Pak Electron Limited).
PEL is one of a reputable Pakistan engineering corporation which is working great on power division, home appliances and and most imoortantly it is one of the most stable and oldest company of pakistan. In there corporate sector, they strictly follow the rules of every department they have setup in their company.
When applying for an internee in Finance department first I searched out the name of HR officer of PEL. Fortunately, I got his email address, then I just sent my resume and cover letter to him on his email.

But my second thought was to drop my CV and cover letter personally and without any hesitation I decided to implement this thought and the very next day I was in front PEL’s gate no 2 at 10 am sharp.
While standing in front of the gate, I had many questions in my mind that whether the two security guards will allow me to get in or not. But, after overcoming my hesitation, I went straight to the security guard whose appearence was just like an in charge of the security of that company and asked him to let me in so I can meet with the HR of the company.

That security guard was a little harsh in his voice which made me confuse but I tried a lot to not show my nervousness and kept a sweet smile on my face and had been polite with him so that he, at least forward my request to HR department.
Later, I got remember the name of HR Officer Hassnain Abid, to whom I had sent my resume. I told the security guard thr name of HR Officer and then he let me in from the gate towards PEL.
After entering to the Finance departmeng of PEL, I found a lovely looking receptionist at the first and told her that I want to meet HR offcier. She told me to wait as HR was in a meeting and its not their policy to let others walk in to meet with HR in a meeting but it was a lucky day as HR had a very short meeting that day and I didn’t had to wait for long.
I was waiting in the waiting area and suddenly a phone bell rang and YES, It was from the HR but he told the reseptioniat that he have to go the unit 2 urgently which is in Kasur. And he ordered her to cancel all of his other meetings.

The receptionist told that to me. I was very dishearted. But then she told me that there is a box they have created for the candidates who want to do internship in their company and those candidates are allowed to drop their CV and cover letter in that box. I did the same. I dropped my CV and cover letter in that box with a little bit satisfaction that it’s okay, I have also sent an email to Sir Hassnain. I will let him know about my drop in of CV and cover letter through that.

It was an amazing experience as you can not always get that what you want. I emailed, did struggle, went #extramile by taking out time form my busy schedule, passed all the hurdles but still was unable to meet HR. But yeah, I was satisfied because I have a contact of him. And this was a challenge which I overcomed by dropping my Cv and cover letter in that box without coming back disheartedly. And I am really looking forward to get a chance of recieving my email of receiving my CV and resume from Sir Hassnain Abid and having a chance to do an internship in that company. Others can learn from my experience that it is not always necessary that ways are easy for you to achieve something. Hurdles are always there, you have to pass them by your ownself.
