THE POMODORO TECHNIQUE

The Pomodoro technique is a time managent method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. These intervals are named pomodoros, the plural in English of the Italian word pomodoro (tomato), after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as a university student.

I came to know about this technique at Amal Academy where it was in my course to use this technique. I really found this word POMODORO so attractive. This technique is basically to fight procrastination and I decided to use this technique while completing my project work to write a blog on “In person drop” of Resume and Cover Letter.

I planned to choose drawing room as it is the most peaceful place of my home. As I always got distracted by whatsapp, facebook, instagram, twitter, youtube notifications, I decided to not open my notifications and to use the mobile for a long time after completing my blog. Now this time, I committed myself to donot open my notification bar untill my blos completion.

I set the timer for 25 minutes on an alarm clock. During writing that blog, I was unconsciously looking at the alarm clock & was noticing that how much time time is left. I was also distracted by whatsapp messages, facebook notifications but I was ditermined to not open them atleast before 25 minutes utill my alarm bell rings.

After timer rings, I put out the piece of paper & note down how much more efforts I put in it. I opened my pending notifications which I didn’t open and checked them out. By practicing Pomodoro technique, I became able to write my half of the blog in just 25 minutes without any grammatical mistake and with efficiency. After that, I took a break. I made a tea for me and enjoyed it. Then, I again set the alarm for 25 minutes to complete my blog. By practicing this technique, I was able to write my blog in just 50 minutes easily.

This technique is highly recommended to avoid procrastination and to.manage your work. It also reduced the risk or chances of any mistake as we fully concentrate on our work in that time which we set. I personally found this trick to be most helpful for me.
