Fun Product Idea — Neuralyzer App
I am making a commitment to come up with at least one fun (maybe a little crazy, depending on your definition of fun) product ideas per month from now on. Call it the Fun Product Idea series.
With the recent advent of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technology, comes the opportunity for us Designers to propose creative solutions to the common problems people face in their day to day.
The goal of the Fun Product Ideas series isn’t to come up with a revolutionary new product idea. The idea is to get everyone thinking about the big “what ifs” and “how might we” even when the “what ifs” might not be technically feasible in the near future. Sounds good? No? Perfect! Let’s move on. Also the primary intention is to have fun and share ideas.
For the first Fun Product Idea, let’s take a closer look at the Neuralyzer.
A Neuralyzer is the tube like thing from Men In Black that is used to wipe the memories of people who had the bad luck of seeing shit they were not supposed to see.
Moral and technical challenges aside, what if you could have this Neuralyzer technology on your phone? What would you use it for? How often would you use it? Would you ever use it on yourself to wipe out a negative or traumatic experience? What would that experience look like? Well, below a quick and simple prototype I created to explore this concept.
