I realized 3 possible reasons for my inaction in the real world.

  1. Too much information consumption may lead to inaction.
  2. Absence of a strong emotional desire to accomplish worthwhile things.
  3. Absence of real necessity in the external world.

Let’s discuss in detail the third reason for inaction.

3. Absence of real necessity in the external world.

It’s a popular saying that necessity is the mother of invention, and rightly so.

In front of a real necessity, we can even do those things that we can’t imagine in normal circumstances.

Our external environment shapes us in a great way. A person born into a poor household just had to strive for a livelihood. He has no option. He will act continuously out of necessity.

A person who needs urgent money will do everything to get the required amount of money.

Sometimes even a good person may make unethical moves to fulfil a real necessity.

What I want to say is that necessity in the real world brings out the best in us. Sometimes worse too.

We will do things that we are not capable of. We will do things that we don’t imagine. That’s the power of necessity.

Some practical tips are as follows:

  1. Don’t wait for some actual necessity to come so that you can take action.
  2. Don’t try to create a necessity. If it comes naturally, you're good to go. You will be able to perform actions effortlessly.
  3. Don’t consume too much information and just start taking action, as we discussed in Part 1.

I hope you enjoyed the three-part series on reasons for inaction. Keep on exploring yourself. Enjoy the journey.
