Kindness or Responsibility??

When I opened my project work and saw this project that I have to mention 5 random acts of kindness performed in a day, I was initially nervous that what will I write in it, then fortunately on Tuesday one of the fellow uploaded his blog and as I went through it I saw that he wrote about helping his family, the first point came in my mind was that isn’t it his responsibility, then I opened that lecture again and went through those 101 ways of showing kindness. After reading them, same question popped up in my mind but with a different idea now. Are all these things kindness or a responsibility. As the list includes helping your friend in problem, sharing the workload of your mother and the other similar things. That further intrigued me to find the answer of this question so I searched it on the internet and I found this:

“As custodians of the planet, it is our responsibility to deal with species with kindness, love, and compassion.” (Richard Gere)

And then I searched more related things as at AMAL we are being taught to go extra mile. Then I founded a quote by Maya Angelou, she says that: “every day you should reach out and touch someone as many people love a warm hug or a nice friendly pat on the back” Again the words here favoring the responsibility so I think the act of kindness is actually our responsibilities which we perform very rarely.

So my five random responsibilities are as follow:

Giving a lift:

As I was heading back home from my internship, a guy asked for a lift so I agreed and he was looking very happy and that happiness was a great satisfaction.

Making Tea:

I came home after my internship and as I was not much tired so I made the tea for everyone. By the way it was not for the first time that I made tea.

Helping friend with an assignment:

A friend of mine was really busy these days and she had to complete a very lengthy assignment so as a friend it’s my responsibility to help her and I did and we completed that assignment pretty much that day.

Doing dishes:

My mother was not feeling well and the maid was on the leave so I did the dishes and wanna hear a secret?? I think you have guessed that it was also not the first time I did dishes but I do not do dishes very often.

Resolved issues:

A friend of mine was angry at me for some unknown reason, at first I did not try to resolve the matter as he was not even telling me the reason of his anger, but then I went to him and resolved all the issues and it was not due to this project. I had planned to visit him that day already.Fortunately it was the same day all these things happened.
