“The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature. The life of many a person could probably be changed if only would someone make him feel better.” the whole chapter revolves around this very statement of Carnegie. He elaborates his point by giving different examples like he said that people love dogs just because of its loving nature. We can make many friends if we simply apply this simple rule of being interested in others and keep in mind that if you are doing it for a purpose you will not get sincere friends. If your love is unconditional only then you will be liked by others heartily.
The lesson that I have learnt is that you can do anything with love. The example given in the chapter was quite astonishing that how the issues between the chain store organization and the fuel seller were resolved in just under two hours, 1 hour 47 minutes to be precise. From this example it is clearly visible that anything can be resolved by just showing that you care for them or you are interested in them. If we put aside our ego for a minute, we can make great friends.

Another lesson that I have learnt is that if you are being interested in someone he will always remember you in a good manner. Every day we hear or see on social media and sometimes we even witness that in restaurants people take their servants (especially kids) with them and while they are having their meal that kid is supposed to sit on another table or some so called “educated and well reputed people” force them to sit under the table so that their repute can be maintained. That kid cannot say you anything but think for a moment will he remember you in good words? No, never. He or she will always keep you in his/her bad books.

We should love others and be more interested in them and they will automatically love you and start taking interest in you. Like that magician — Thurston said that he loved his audience and they start loving him. While reading his statement a quote by Christiano Ronaldo flashed in my mind. He once said that he never rejects an autograph or a picture because he was also a fan once and this attribute has made him one of the most loved footballer world has ever seen.
To talk about “the interested challenge” honestly I was very afraid that how people will react of my changed attitude though I am a caring person but this challenge was beyond just care but as the motto of Amal I just started. At first it was awkward for me and I guess for my friends as well but their responses were very pleasing, my friends started talking to me more nicely.
A friend of mine — a dear one and I were not at talking terms for a while due to some reasons and after this challenge I reflected upon it a lot and then decided to start things by myself so I messaged him and he was like, I was just waiting for your message, thanks for taking the initiative. So I learnt from this incident that sometimes lowering your ego can save a relationship and if you think that it will make you less in any way, think again. It will make you even more respectable.

So we should love others, should keep them above ourselves and be more interested in them and this will make us more lovable.
