Geto Suguru fell into the fire and I personally think he was healed through the burning.

Geto Suguru massacred 112 residents with his curse manipulation technique.

Geto Suguru is an antagonist in the anime entitled Jujutsu Kaisen. This anime is based on a manga with the same title written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. Geto caused a big commotion in the jujutsu world. His deflection created a major upheaval and ever since he massacred 112 residents in a village, Geto was considered a curse user and was designated for execution. Before becoming a curse user who committed numerous crimes, he used to be a decent student and a righteous one. He even said to Gojo, “Jujutsu exists to protect non-jujutsu users. Society should protect the weak.” This intuition that he authenticated to Gojo was his belief and his role before he chose another path that changed his meaning of life. Followed by the meaning of his existence and his identity as a person.

Søren Kierkegaard (1813–1855) the father of existentialism considered it a must for humans to have meaning for their own lives rather than gaining it from society or religion. Other existential philosophers, Friedrich Nietzsche and Fyodor Dostoevsky stated humans should discover their own identity so that they can have meaning in existence. If humans were unable to identify their own meaning in life, it could cause anxiety and lead to an existential crisis. Geto Suguru’s existential crisis began when he failed to conduct a tough task and this was escalated by the death of his kōhai. His existential anxiety led him to the feeling of confusion about his true identity as a jujutsu sorcerer. “If being a jujutsu sorcerer was like running a marathon, what if at the end of the road was a mountain of our fellow sorcerers’ corpses?” The insurmountable thoughts about doubting whether the non-sorcerers were worth fighting for were really haunting. It affected Geto physically unsustainable and the feeling of doubt gradually developed into hatred. He smoldered in resentment towards non-sorcerers, starting to call them “monkeys” as an insult. Geto often spent his time alone and it caused him to sink further into the darkness. The darkness that inundated him was brightened by the path that was full of fire; he got burned and was eventually healed from the tough thoughts that had destroyed him.

Geto when he lost the essence of his duty as a jujutsu sorcerer. This was the very first time he labelled non sorcerers as monkeys.

“The part of you that looks down on non-sorcerers, the part of you that tries to resist that feeling, whatever your true feeling is, you are the one to decide” Geto discerned on these two decisions and adhered to the feeling that looked down on non-sorcerers. When he reached the stage that deflected from a decent jujutsu sorcerer, Geto successfully transcended from his existential crisis and subsequently could give meaning to his life. Eradicating all non-sorcerers and creating a world of only jujutsu sorcerers became his new way to live, which Gojo thought these ideas were implausible. Geto Suguru fell into the fire, but these burns healed him. He killed his own parents, and he didn’t even think this was a bad decision because after his deflection, his family consisted of more than just them. He also said killing all non-sorcerers was not pointless; it had meaning and also gave justice. “This is the life I have chosen all I can do now is give it all I got.” (Geto Suguru to Gojo Satoru, Shinjuku, 2007)
