In life, there has always existed two polarities flowing beautifully with one another in perfect harmony, never static but always complementing. The Yin Yang is the embodiment of these dualities forming together to make the whole – one can not be without the other. Masculine and feminine energies, good and evil, and light and dark are all examples of these dualities in our world and they lie within all of us.
Most of us, at one stage or another will find ourselves experiencing a dark night of the soul. The realisation that there is an unspoken darkness that lies within. This darkness isn’t something to fear for it is that darkness you uncover while swimming into the depths of your psyche that holds the answers to your true Self, the Self that is unattached and free from the Ego Self.
It is only through sitting with that darkness, getting uncomfortable with that darkness and nurturing the darkness that lives within us that we are able to truly understand and feel the beauty that is the light. There is no love without suffering and there is no light without dark.
Our ability to feel love and light is what makes us human. But it is also our ability to feel fear and darkness, which does the same. It is only when light and dark and love and fear integrate within us without struggle that we can embody and personify that of the Yin Yangs harmony and find a true state of peace, enlightenment and of connection – both within the Self and with the World and Universe.
