As previously announced, SynchroLife was chosen for Plug and Play Japan’s Batch 1 accelerator program in summer 2018 (see full news here: https://medium.com/synchrocoin/synchrolife-selected-for-startup-accelerator-plug-and-play-japans-fintech-batch-1-26c0ae7461c9). We were honored to win both the Expo award for top domestic fintech company and the audience award for best pitch at the Plug and Play Japan Batch 1 Expo event in September 2018!

44 International Teams Pitch and Announce Partnerships at Plug and Play Japan Batch 1 Demo Day
The Japanese branch of the Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale based acelerater Plug and Play, Plug and Play Japan, held a demo day for their BATCH 1 participants on September 5th and 6th in Tokyo. The demo day event was titled “Plug and Play Expo” an attracted more than 1200 attendees. Batch 1 companies announced the results of their three months in the accelerator program as well as their new business alliances and partnerships.
Compared to BATCH 0, BATCH 1 included many new corporate partners and 53 international companies were chosen across four verticals (Fintech, Insurtech, IoT, Mobility), with 44 presenting at the Expo. In today’s article we’d like to introduce the winning start ups from each vertical.

Fintech EXPO Winner & Fintech PnPJ Award Winner — GINKAN (Japan)
GINKAN runs SynchroLife, a new kind of social restaurant discover service using artificial intelligence and a token economy. The accuracy and transparency of reviews utilizes blockchain technology and users can earn SynchroCoin, a globally universal cryptocurrency token incentive, for their quality reviews. SynchroLife has over 170,000 restaurant reviews, over 420,000 restaurant photos, and over 20% of registered users have posted reviews.
SynchroLife is currently avaliable for use in over 155 countries and has users registered in 82 countries with reviews in 48 countries already. GINKAN announced at the event that thanks to participating in Plug and Play Japan Batch 1 the have established a partnership with Tokyu Land Corporation and will be running a proof-of-concept campaign in Tokyu Plaza Ginza. During the one month campaign, SynchroLife will be sending restaurants, testing their social media marketing, and using a QR code system that allows users to get cashback cryptocurrency token rewards at 21 restaurants in Tokyu Plaza Ginza.
