People seem really preoccupied with your hair. I read the other letter — I don’t understand, even if I thought a stranger styled their hair using hedge clippers I would not inform them of it. It’s not my hair! Since I brought up random stranger’s opinions of your hair here’s mine: I think it’s pretty cool, tho if I were you I might add some blue or purple temporary dye just to spite these people trying to police my style.

I don’t understand why people are so hung up on Immigrants. Almost all our families came from somewhere else, at some point, we all came from Africa ultimately ffs. I also don’t understand why it’s so hard to understand that people born here aren’t immigrants, no matter where their family is from ancestrally or how long they’ve been here. Additionally, many immigrants are Americans. They apply and receive citizenship. Complete assimilation is overrated, our country would be so much less interesting if every group that came here just blended perfectly into the one that was dominant at the time. We’d be lacking so much beauty, culture, and charm (and food).
