Syntera and TeroFund are constantly working to improve their products. This time, we took care of improving the security of our customers by adding another tool to protect Syntera accounts and your investments — two-factor authentication with Google Authenticator.
First of all, we want to remind you that one of the most successful methods of hacking your email account is the use of hacker programs for selecting passwords. For this reason, we urge you not to use simple words or sets of letters. It is best if your password contains at least 7 characters, among them are numbers, lowercase and uppercase letters. It is also desirable that the passwords to the Syntera account and the client mail do not match.
Now let’s take a closer look at a new method of protection — two-factor authentication with Google Authenticator. This is the use of a special mobile application from Google to confirm login. To activate it, you must perform the following steps:
- In your account in the “My profile” tab, click on the switch next to “Google Code”;
- Install the Google Authenticator application, with its help you need to scan the QR code from the pop-up window that opens. Enter the current password, click “Submit”;
- Next you need to enter the code from the application and click “Continue”.
When logging next to the web-site after specifying the login and password, you will need to enter the code from the Google Authenticator application. The code in the application is updated every 40 seconds. We also recommend to put Google Authenticator for your mail.
As before, you can receive an authentication code to your email. This method is less secure, since if an attacker has access to your mail, an attacker can bypass this protection algorithm. However, if this is the only acceptable algorithm for you, you need to follow these steps:
- Log in to your personal account on the tab “My profile”;
- Click the switch next to “2FA Code”;
- In the pop-up window that opens, enter the current password and click “Submit”.
Now, in order to log in to your account, in addition to the login and email, you will need to specify a verification code that will be sent to your email.
We also kindly ask — do not store passwords in the public domain, do not trust them to strangers. Remember — company employees never ask for access to the user’s personal account.
