Happy you posted this. Having a distraction-free device was the very reason why I got a reMarkable — and it has become my preferred working tool since then, both for creation and reading. And, having 3 kids, it was very obvioius to me that this would make for a great study tool and wonder ever since if the reMarkable business develelopment is working on a schooling solution: the device would make for a perfectd classroom companion — school-books in PDF format could be annotated at will and teachers could use the template feature to provide worksheets for the entire class. The only thing that would need to be put in place: a school-administered cloud solution to collect the data from the student tablets so that the results can be reviewed by the teacher.

Besides, having all books and worksheets on one (distraction-free) tablet would solve a big and maybe unexpected non-digital problem, especially in lower classes: the sheer weight of the school bags. Currently, my kids often carry a weight that’s closer to the burden of a elite SpecOps soldier than to what a kid between 10 and 16 years should ever have to carry. When adressing this question, we usually only get the infamous “There is no alternative” answer….. but obviously there is !
