Introduction

In the following, we will examine the characteristics of several generations and the social impact of generational differences.

Baby Boomers

The Baby Boomers generation refers to people born after World War II. This generation played a significant role in societal and technological changes. They are often traditionalists, value organization and personal relationships. They tend to be loyal and committed in their work, focusing on building their careers.

Generation X

Generation X includes individuals born between 1965 and 1980. This generation experienced the transition from analog to digital technology. Generation X is often independent and self-reliant, striving to balance work and personal life. Their workplace values include flexibility, adaptability to change, and pragmatism.

Generation Y or “Millennials”

Generation Y encompasses those born between 1981 and 1996. This generation grew up in the digital age, with the internet and technology being part of their lives. They are creative, ambitious, and seek meaning in their work. Balancing work and leisure is important to them, and they place a strong emphasis on personal development and work experience.

Generation Z or “Centennials”

Generation Z refers to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. This generation grew up with digital technology, and smartphones and social media have become integral to their lives. They are flexible and quick to adapt to changes. They value personal freedom and creative expression.
