Top 5 HashGraph features which interested me
When I was seeing twitter, one tweet caught my attention.
HashGraph team release mainnet
Well, I don’t remember what was it, though I learned about it just 2 months ago through Coursera’s blockchain course. I decided to finally give a chance to read with white paper.
1st: “Asynchronous” Byzantine Fault Tolerant
To be asynchronous is a great feature of HashGraph. This is the reason why HashGraph is fast. I think to be fast is the most emphasized feature in white paper. The white paper says that HashGraph can handle all of the transactions of the entire VISA card network. Moreover, thanks to this no single node which can prevent the community from reaching a consensus. Nor can they change the consensus once it has been reached. And it can achieve consensus even if malicious actors are able to control the network by ignoring botnets. This accomplish strong resilience against DDoS attack.
2nd: Compatible with Solidity
You know, solidity is well known language to write smart contract in Ethereum platform. Surprisingly, We can use Solidity in Hedra platform.
The detail is not mentioned in white paper, this must be a great advantage.
3rd: Motivated Identification for government using purpose.
I’m surprised that Verified identities and anonymous accounts exist independently. The Hedra team insist that KYC(Know Your Customer) and AML(Anti Money Launderling) checked identifying individuals who are required by government if we intended to use our blockchain as public leader for ongoing financial services. We can create verified account by attaching identity certification on my key pair.
Anyway, Hedra is distinguished from Bitcoin or Ethereum in this point.
4th: Provide file storage intended to store public license.
There are so many blockchain project offering file storage services. But, Hedra can be a platform to store public license like driver license. As well as in this point, Hedra is distinguished form the other blockchains.
5th: Move to proof-of-stake for scaling reason in the future.
We need to show our holding cryptocurrency when we want to be a member of Hedra nodes. And the holding cryptocurrency will be userd to weight our votes. To tell the truth, current community is not open. Governed by will known anonymous up to 39 global organizations. This style is called “Council Governance Model”.
I’m not sure but to join network as node may be required approval until moving to proof-of-stake. Because the gossip protocol only guarantee if more than 2/3 participating members are reliable. To maintain reliable network the community need to keep the malicious node number less than 1/3.
Thank you for reading. Let me apologize my poor English writing.
