Around the same time they were covering “Awful Things” at Lil Peep’s memorial service, Good Charlotte also released a Christmas album. One of them is a new-wavey cover of George Michael’s “Last Christmas”, one sounds like a faithful Good Charlotte take on pop punk with twinkly Christmas bells and forlorn lyrics about getting dumped during the holidays (with a special shoutout to Hanukkah so the non-gentiles can get in on the fun). There’s also a different pop punk song about letting the world be still on Christmas. If you like Good Charlotte and Christmas, great! Throw it on your family’s playlist today. If not, you’re not missing too much. Whatever.

This is Day 95 in my 100 albums in 100 days series, where I review a new album or EP I haven’t heard in full before every day through December 31st. Check out yesterday’s post or see the full archives for more.
