Dear Google,

I dont know any other way to reach you, so I try this blog.

I assume you want to make the world a better place using technology as enabler.

You put internet balloons in the sky to provide the tiniest village in the nowhere with Internet (project loon). Good. I’m not saying providing the world with internet, information and education is unimportant.

But why don’t you engage more actively in food sciences first? You - with your capital, talents and vision- could develop a meal replacement like Soylent. It’s ironic how wikipedia links from Soylent to Plumpy’nut, a paste for severe acute malnutrition, to “see also”. #firstworldproblem

A nutritious meal replacement would…

(1) … solve the hunger problem in LDCs. Food first, internet second.

(2) … make the developing and industrialized countries more productive and efficient. For all the conservatives who ask: Why do we need to abandon the last human thing and social convention, eating? I’m not saying no more eating and no more cooking. This can remain as a hobby as some like swimming or watching TV in their free time.

This would be your first real development to enhance humankind. Because for the first time, humankind, also in your definition, includes all nations of the world. Google search does not benefit all nations alike.

It’s so basic. Sleeping and eating are the two struggles of humans as animals. Sleeping can’t be “accelerated”. Eating can be overcome.

Best,

Kim
