The Moon

Part 2

This story is loosely based on the Tarot. I have taken the card as a jumping-off point of the story. From there, it may have very little to do with the Tarot itself. Consider yourself warned.

Darkness

It envelopes me

No moon tonight

This is my time

I crawl out once per month

For an hour or two

I pray no one sees me

But what can I do

It has been so long

Since I have seen one of mine

One of my own

Kind

Neither kith nor kin

I walk along the edges here

Reading words lost

Smoothed away

By wind and rain

The graves of others

Lost to time

They too with no one left

To care

Anymore

I trail my fingers along the fence line
