The incident occurred as the airship was coming in to land, with a steep descent taken by the craft. The nose and cockpit of the ship hit the ground during the heavy landing, causing damage to the front deck. The prototype was in the air for just under two hours. The crash came after a successful first flight in August when the aircraft landed safely after a 15-minute flight during which it travelled at 35 knots (64.82 kilometres per hour). Originally designed as a military surveillance vehicle, the Airlander 10 project was abandoned by the Pentagon in 2012, but was resurrected by Hybrid Air Vehicles last year. The Airlander 10 can stay airborne for up to five days at a time if manned, and for over two weeks unmanned, the company’s website said. Airlander 10 will serve a variety of uses such as communications, cargo carrying and survey roles in both the military and commercial sectors with a focus on a low-carbon footprint. airlander crash video airliner crashes air crash investigation air crashes 2016 air crash an air crash become a air crash investigator a list of air crashes For more videos subscribe my channel.
