The best Parisian pizzas

Did you know that the pizza that won the world’s championship in 2016 is French ?

Ludovic Bicchierai is the French chef that won the 25th annual competition between pizzaioli from all over the world, held in Parma (Italy) back in April 2016.

  1. Il Campionissimo, 26 rue Léopold-Bellan, 75002
Il Campionissimo / Instagram @annapotter83

This pizzeria was imagined by the vice-champion of the World’s Pizza Championships of 2009 : Arlette Cadot. Her winning pizza is still on the menu and is as enormous as it is succulent.
The pizza dough there is maybe the best I’ve tasted so far in France. And the only trouble you will have is to make a choice as the list of pizzas seems to never end.
As for the prices, the “classic” pizzas are at a pretty reasonable price for the standing of the place, and the more elaborate ones are a bit expensive, but it is so worth it !

Il Campionissimo is opened everyday from 12am to 2:30pm and from 7 to 11pm, on Saturdays from 12am to 3pm, from 7pm to midnight. You will need to book.
You have to book a table beforehand. You can also order to go.

2. East Mamma, 133 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75011

East Mamma is a huge place that not only serve delicious pizzas, but also many other Italian specialities. The menu changes every month, but it is always amazing !
But what interest us here is the pizzas. They are in a Napolitan style : a thin and crusty pizza dough with a generous garnish. The ingredients are fresh and tasty, of course. It is a “must go” in Paris !

Open everyday from 12:15pm to 2:45 pm and from 7:30pm to 11pm. No booking.
Pizzas : 9-15€

2,5. Ober Mamma, 107 boulevard Richard Lenoir, 75011

Ober Mamma / juliezwing.com

Ober Mamma is the sister “pizze ristorante” of East Mamma. Because of the success of East Mamma, they decided to open another one not so far from the first one. If it is kind of similar to its mother East, it still has its own style, taste and chefs. You will be torn between the two of them, but the pleasure will be equal ! The pizza are also in the Napolitan style, cooked in an “old” pizza oven.

Open everyday from 12:15pm to 2:30pm and from 6pm to 1am, with an aperitivo from 6pm to 8pm. No booking.
Pizzas : 9–15€

3. Il Brigante, 14 rue du Ruisseau 75018

Il Brigante / @sandra.bar

Enter in a very small restaurant and be welcomed by an awesome Italian staff. The room is indeed really small and you share a table with strangers, which is for me what it the best feature of this place.
Wait, not really … I mean, the pizzas are amazing. The cook is making them at the entrance, which a great sight. They will also know what to advise you for the wine and it is a taste of heaven.

Open every day except on Sundays from noon to 2:30pm and from 7:30pm to 11:30pm. You can also order to take away.
Pizzas : 9–18 €

4. Faggio, 72 rue de Rochechouart, 75009

Faggio / lexpress.fr

In this New-Yorkish styled pizza restaurant, you will have to choose between 10 different pizzas of 33cm cooked in a big wooden-fired oven. These big pizzas will fill your stomach with fabulous flavors.
If they are a bit expensive, there are tasty enough to make you forget all about their price ! They are worth it, I am telling you !

Allegra / @lefoodarium

In the Allegra restaurant, the pizza dough is prepared with an organic Italian floor and is then used to make 8 to 9 pizzas (one is always a vegan one) that change with the seasons.
The garnish is splendid, fresh and tasty and you will feel as happy as promised by the name of the place (“allegra” means happiness)!

Allegra is open everyday from 8am to 11pm (the kitchen hours are from noon to 2:30 and from 7pm to 11pm).
Pizza : 11-16 €

6. Pizza Chic, 13 rue Mezière, 75006

Pizza Chic / @deliveroo_fr

Pizza Chic is a very simple place in a way : you want to eat a delicious pizza, they offer delicious pizzas. Period.
BUT, what you want to taste there is their pizza garnished with this white bacon — Lardo di Colonnata — and sprinkled with rosemary (see on the picture above). This pizza cooked in a wooden fired oven is their signature and you can’t miss it !

Pizza : 14–22€

7. Grazie, 91 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003

Grazie / tendaysinparis.com

Born from the concept store Merci, you will learn how to say “Thank You” in Italian there : Grazie. It is a cocktail bar AND a pizzeria too ! Isn’t this an awesome combination ? As for me, I’m sold !
The pizzas are overflowing with some delicious garnishes, fresh and tasty ! You will say thank you in many more languages after a taste of their pizzas !

Open everyday from noon to 2:30pm and from 7pm to 10:30pm (11:30 on Fridays and Saturdays), non-stop on weekends.
Pizza : 8–22€

8. Louie Louie, 78 rue de Charonne, 75011

Louie Louie / @uglymely

Created by the masterminds behind the hidden bar Moonshiner (that we talked about in this article), the pizzas here are as refreshing and tasty as they are bold ! I don’t want to spoil you, so I will let you discover it for yourself …
To add aven more hype to this place, the drinks are great too (and the price are nice) !

Pizzas : 9–16 €

9. Pizza Dei Cioppi, 44 rue Trousseau 75011

Pizza Dei Cioppi / lefigaro.fr

In this small shop, you will be able to choose between 8 different pizzas. A further piece of information : every week, they change their 8 pizzas. The pizzas represent each one a region of Italy. I never knew there could be so many different flavors in one country (haha), and I hope you’ll be as delighted as me when tasting them !

Pizzas : from 5,50€ to 7 € the slice

10. Baretto di Edgar, 14 rue d’Alexandrie 75002

Baretto di Edgar / @carlasilberstein

In a very minimalist and Scandinavian decor, the Baretto di Edgar will prepare you amazing pizzas. As you have to pick slices, you can taste all of them (not really, you would explode, but still) and don’t worry about still being hungry !
Those are small piece of heaven that fell right into your mouths !

Pizzas : 4,50 € the slice to take away, 7,50 € at the restaurant.
